  A bit pricy like everything in Charleston, but probably the best she-crab. Good sandwiches and local crowd. I hate when they make you decide on tips even before you see the food. Even stranger sounded the offer from the guy who brought my food to go and take napkins and silverware... but again, the food is good

  The Village Bakery is a special, quaint, family oriented treasure located in the heart of Mount Pleasant. It's been apart of the community for several decades and offers families a place to make memories. Taking afternoon bike rides or strolls to get one of their delicious cake slices is just one of the many ways to enjoy all The Village Bakery has to offer. You never know who you will see when you stop in. From Darius Rucker to Catherine Bell to all of your friendly neighbors, it's truly a surprise every time you step in their doors. One of the many reasons it's such a treat, is because they've been blessed to have one of the greater bakers in the Charleston area employed there for over 10 years. You know when you order a slice of Travis Shy's famous Coconut Cake, you won't be disappointed, but instead warped into a state of pure bliss. Along with his cakes, he makes decadent cookies, muffins and pies. Getting married? Not to worry, he can also make your wedding cake dreams come true. Sweet tooth not aching? Then stop in and enjoy their many options of homemade soups and sandwiches. The Village Bakery has something for everyone of every age and is a must stop if you're a local or just visiting.

  guy behind counter was surly when asked about menu. cold soup. cold coffee. had the quiche with broken crust with old fresh fruit salad. will not go back. place not clean
